Whether the home you are buying or are living in is new or old it all comes down to how it was built and the craftmanship that was put into it.  Just because it is new does not necessarily mean it was built right.  The same goes for if it is an older home. Just because it is old does not mean it is in bad shape.  It may just need some standard maintenance for example paint, caulking, windows, roof, plumbing.  These issues can be minor things to be remedied and extend the longevity of the home.  If left unchecked they can lead to major issues.  I can help you determine the state of these systems so you can work with an appropriate contractor to determine what should be done.
